Take a day to yourself, and be stress free. Do things to fill your heart with happiness. Whether it’s watching a movie, spending time with your bestie, or going for a walk with your pupster. A couple weeks ago I decided to have the perfect self-care day, and do all the things I love.
How to Have The Perfect Self-Care Day
Take a Break from Social Media. Make Meaningful Connections Instead
For my perfect self-care day I wanted to unplug from social media and enjoy my surroundings. Making time for friendships that matter the most is the perfect self-care day you can gift yourself with. Connecting with your bestie on a day filled with fun activities is a great way to relieve stress. Gabriella and I snapped a couple of videos and photos of our time together, but it was so nice engaging with each other as oppose with our phones.
Eat and Drink Something Delicious
The most important aspect of your perfect self-care day other than the company, are food and drinks. For my self-care day with Gabriella, I picked up some gluten-free treats, and added the picnic essentials in my basket, like cheese, prosciutto, fruits. Best addition though is XOXO Wines. The brand is a synonym with girlfriends and having fun, so whenever I get together with girlfriends, I always have XOXO Wines for us. For this occasion, I chose the newly launched XOXO Pinot Grigio-Chardonnay Light. The sweetness level is off-dry with 8.0% alcohol. It is light-bodied which makes it the perfect wine to have during the week after work, or even after an outdoor activity. Gabriella and I definitely took advantage and had a glass after we went on our walk and played badminton. The perfect self-care day also includes some exercise and outdoor activities. It doesn’t have to be working out, think outside of the box of being confined in the gym. It can simply be taking a stroll at the beach, exploring a park, meditating, or going for a walk with your dog. Simply put, anything can be considered an activity. Taking care of yourself also means taking care of your body. Gabriella and I had so much fun being at the beach playing badminton. It was such a random sport to add to our outing, but honestly it was the perfect activity to relieve some stress. We had no idea what we were doing, but that is what made it so fun. Being active even for just 15 minutes a day can make a big difference in how you feel. Plus, afterwards you can have your 8% XOXO Pinot Grigio Light, the perfect balance!
Taking a perfect self-care day is so important for your wellbeing, and the more frequent your self care days become, the more you will learn to live in the present and take in your surroundings. I outlined above some of the things I love including in my self-care days, but the options are endless depending on what you love. Good company (make sure to follow Gabriella and her amazing blog too), fun outdoor or indoor activities and a flavourful light-bodied glass of XOXO Wine is what does the trick for me.
