Your guide to visiting White Oak REsort & Spa in Niagara on the lake

White Oaks Resort & Spa AmenitiesWhite Oaks Location

If you are looking for Niagara on the lake hotels, White Oaks is always a top choice for travelers. It is located only a 15-minute drive from the historic and picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake town, and right across from a shopping outlet which is such a bonus. White Oaks Resort & Spa is a luxury hotel that is the perfect stay for couples, families, and girlfriend trips. There is also free parking or valet parking if you prefer. The Resort also provides round-trip airport transfers to Toronto-Pearson International Airport at a surcharge, so if you are traveling outside of Ontario, this is such a handy service to have.

Amenities at White Oaks

Honestly, I could spend a whole blog post writing about all the amenities the resort offers. The Garden for starters is such a peaceful escape. It has trails, a fountain, picnic tables, and such a beautiful space to spend time alone or with your family and kids. Also, recommend grabbing a coffee from Starbucks (also located in the hotel!) and relaxing at the Muskoka chairs located in the garden. There is an indoor pool and the 100,000 square foot fitness and racquet facility. The space has well-equipped cardio and weight rooms, a women’s only fitness room, swimming and whirlpools, steam rooms, and saunas.  These are all included, and there is also access to classes and courts for additional fees.

The Rooms at White Oaks Resort

The 220 elegant rooms have been recently updated with modern touches and include an extensive list of amenities. The last time I stayed here the rooms hadn’t gone through the makeover yet, and WOW. The changes make the stay here even better. We stayed in the Luxury Executive Suite- 1 King bed, and the room was spacious and modernized. There were complimentary designer toiletries as well as bathrobes to use and the bathroom had a shower-tub combination which is always such a bonus. The room overlooks the garden and room amenities like a refrigerator, coffeemaker, complimentary wi-fi, and a safe are also available.

*Please note when you are ordering in-room service, specialty coffees come directly from Starbucks. You will be charged the equivalent of the Starbucks price, so ensure it is the exact Starbucks coffee order you want. The coffee will be made for you as requested and this is also one of the perks of having Starbucks in the hotel.White Oaks Resort & Spa Room review

White Oaks Packages

One element about White Oaks I love is their deals & packages offers. With our hotel package, we did an add-on for a Wine Tour. This is such a convenient option since the hotel also arranges transportation and you don’t have to worry about driving. A car picks you up from the lobby then drives you around to the different wineries. The Wine Tour includes the following: Visiting at least 3 wineries which include tastings, and the whole experience lasts about 3.5 hours long. This was a unique experience since we were taken to smaller-scale wineries that focus on producing quality VQA wines.

White Oaks  Spa Services

A stay at White Oaks should also be accompanied by a day at the spa. I have used the spa services & facilities in the past and have shared my White Oaks spa experience in this post. White Oaks spa is one of the largest spas in Ontario with 19 treatment rooms and an exclusive couples suite. If you are to refresh and rejuvenate definitely check out the spa services.  For White Oaks resort spa packages you can check out the full White Oaks Spa service menu here. Spa services include massages, hair & body treatment, massages, manicure, and pedicures.

The Restaurants and Food at White Oaks Resort

White Oaks Resort has 3 restaurants on site, which makes the stay here so much more convenient.

Breakfast and Dinner at LIV

LIV offers a fine dining experience, serving both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast at LIV is always such a pleasant experience. The menu is a la carte with a range of food items you can choose from like classic egg dishes, fruit bowls with yogurt, and oatmeal. You can either choose to have your breakfast at the restaurant or in-room service. The day we were checking out we chose to eat our breakfast in the room so we can have more time getting ready for checkout. Dinner at LIV is always such an experience. The food is delicious and carefully selected to appeal to your taste buds. The kitchen is also very accommodating to your dietary restrictions and the staff always go above and beyond to make the dining experience so memorable.

Lunch and Dinner at PLAY

PLAY is a bar + grill serving lunch and dinner with a laid-back, casual atmosphere. There is also the option of eating on the patio, if you are visiting in the summer, early fall. The indoor space is very spacious, and there is also a sitting area that overlooks the tennis and racquet courts. If you eat here definitely order the nachos, but just the half size. It is HUGE! The one pictured here is the half-size and it is loaded with ingredients layer upon layer. Even for two people, this appetizer is hard to finish, but oh so delicious. The steak was also cooked to perfection and the salad was equally satisfying.

Grow Kitchen & Café

The Grow Kitchen and café is perfect healthy options, grab-and-go convenience. Here you will also find a Starbucks where you can grab your fave specialty made coffee.

Traveler Tip: Advanced reservations are required at LIV and Play. Please note that Liv will be closed for Dinner on Sundays and Mondays From October to May.

White Oaks Resort Has a Sustainability Program

Each hotel’s environmentally sustainable practices make such a huge impact on our environment. White Oaks has an extensive sustainability program that creates a balance between minimizing carbon footprint but still maintaining the guests’ experience. Through the Clean the World program, White Oaks also recycles unused toiletry items and plastics, diverting hotel waste from landfills. There resort also has four hives of Canadian Honeybees and a Monarch butterfly habitat on the property whose world population has been declining in the past years.

The resort also has an electric charger and White Oaks has been recognized by The Audubon International Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program for its standards for water quality, water conservation, waste minimization, resource conservation and energy efficiency. I am so impressed by the initiative White Oaks has taken to help our environment.
