When I picked up this dress I thought it was the most beautiful off-white lace dress I have ever seen. The first thing that came in my mind, was that this is the perfect dress to wear to my bridal shower, except I am not engaged. Nevertheless, Christmas is around the corner, and it is one of the most proffered times for loved ones to get engaged. I can confirm I am not getting engaged, but a lot of you probably will, so I thought I would put together a mini guide for all the brides to be out there what to wear to your bridal shower. Wedding planning can be stressful, but choosing your outfits for all your wedding related parties should be fun. Read below my guide to what to wear to your bridal shower.
Opt to Wear White
Just because you are the bride it does not mean you have to wear white, but I highly recommend you do. White is a crisp colour that everyone looks good in, and if you want to wear something that will make you stand out as a bride, opt for white. I always try to find a reason to wear white, so if you are like me this is your day! If you really want to add a pop of colour you can do so with your accessories, like a pink heel or a colourful classy necklace. After all this is your day. You can also opt for pastels, depending on the theme of your bridal shower. Wear white but I would say that your key factor in deciding what you are going to wear is what your theme is. If your bridal shower is a tropical theme you want to wear something among those lines. In that case I would recommend a plan white dress and then a tropical/floral themed kimono. What you wear at your bridal shower really depends on what your bridal shower theme is.
When it comes to occasion dresses, my aim is always to purchase dresses I can wear again or style differently for a more casual vibe and setting. For your wedding events you want to feel elegant, but that may also come with a hefty price depending on what dress you are eyeing. Whether you want to be practical with your money or with being able to wear your bridal shower dress again, you need to be smart about it. I love this Chicwish dress because it is very affordable, and I can also dress it down by wearing a cardigan on top and switch the bow heels to a pair of flats. If the dress was maxi with embellished satin fabric, my options to style it for an everyday outing would be limited. So think how you want to use your dress afterwards and if you want to be practical about it.
Feel Your Best
Choose a dress you feel comfortable in, but at the same makes you feel your prettiest. This is your day and you should feel and look like it. Keep it classy, but don’t forget to have fun.
