I always thought I had time. Time to eat healthier, time to exercise more, time to incorporate a daily skincare routine. Truth is though, time flies and in order to have healthy looking skin you need to start from an early age. As you may recall, a couple months ago I started my journey with clean eating, but I felt like there was something missing. I wanted to be even more proactive and have a lifestyle that would fight the premature aging of my skin. Today, I am sharing with you three easy anti-aging lifestyle habits I incorporated into my life.
Exercising and Meditating
I used to dread exercising. But don’t trap yourself like into thinking that exercise involves being cooped up in a gym like I did. Exercise is anything you make it to be. The key to incorporating exercise into your daily routine is to take something you love and turn it into an activity. For me, it was spending time with Margot. You all know how obsessed I am with her, so I thought I would incorporate exercise into my daily routine by going out on longer walks with her and being more active during our walks either by playing catch or tug-of-war. Recently, I even started meditating before bed. I decided to start meditation as a way to relieve my stress. Chronic stress can actually accelerate premature aging, and with my busy schedule my stress levels were getting out of control. My regular walks with Margot in combination with meditating have definitely contributed to a happier me which also translates to my overall skin health.
Adding Healthy Fats and Dark Greens To My Meals
I cannot stress enough how important a clean eating lifestyle is when it comes to fighting aging and maintaining a healthy looking skin. When I do my meal preparation I always add healthy fats. Coconut oil, avocados, nuts, and ghee butter are a few examples of healthy fats that I use when I cook. The consumption of these high quality fats have been extremely beneficial to my skin’s health, and unlike trans fats, these good fats don’t cause inflammation in my body. I also eat tons of dark green vegetables like rapini, kale, and spinach. These dark green vegetables contain less water and more chlorophyll which has vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that keep you healthy.
Using a Chemical Free Anti-Aging Product
Clean eating and exercising are essential to the health of your skin, but using a good skincare product is key to fighting wrinkles and maintaining a youthful look. I have never been afraid of aging, but I am a firm believer that no one should age before their time. I was surprised to find out that some of my favourite skincare products contain parabens, and other toxic ingredients that are actually harmful to my skin. As you know, I am always skeptical when I start using a product because of my sensitive, acne prone skin. I wanted to find a new preventative cream that actually worked, but did not irritate my skin. I started using the L’Oréal Revitalift Cicacream and so far my skin looks and feels great. I was drawn to Revitalift Cicacream because it is infused with Centella Asiatica, a plant that has been used for centuries as one the world’s natural remedies for wrinkles. Centella Asiatica is known for its rejuvenating abilities to fight wrinkles by promoting the formation of collagen and elastic fibers. The cream’s main purpose is to restore your skin’s moisture to hydrate and resist signs of aging, and so far I love the results.
From my experience, I learned that in order to age gracefully and maintain a healthy looking skin, not only you need to have a healthy lifestyle by exercising and eating clean, but you also need to use a cream that is not harmful to your skin. That’s why I started using L’Oréal Revitalift Cicacream. Anti-aging is a lifestyle. Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can start today.
What lifestyle changes are you making to prevent premature aging?
