A new year. A new you. Not quite. Neither should you see it that way. A new year gives you the chance to add lessons and build on who you. Don’t change who you are. Rather improve or add characteristics that have already shaped you.

Here is on what I want to focus for the new year.

My Self Worth

We have all come across moments when life seems unfair. That despite all the efforts, we just don’t get the things we truly deserve. Last year, I learned to ask for the things I want. Instead of saying wish it was like or like that, I took action. I learned to recognize my self worth and the value that I bring. We have a tendency to settle and believe that eventually we will receive what we deserve, but sadly it may never happen. This year I intend to walk away from situations where my value is not recognized. Knowing your self worth and protecting it should always be your number one priority. No one will look out for you, the way you look out for your own self.

 Taking More Risks

I am not a risk taker. I like feeling safe and knowing my comfort zone, but this year I want to take risks and try new things in many different aspects of my life. This was one of the reasons I decided to take photos for this post at night. It felt rather liberating to try something new and not be limited to take photos during the day. Taking risks is a scary process, but it is also an important step to evolve as a person.

Shopping Less

There is a constant want to add more items to my wardrobe, and obviously being a blogger it is a must, but this year I want to concentrate on purchasing items that are more of an investment rather a purchase of a want. In 2017 I spent a lot of money on little things here and rather that were not necessarily things of value. This year I want to concentrate more on quality and not quantity.

Traveling More and Creating Experiences

I feel this is on everyone’s list, but honestly, when you travel more your whole world changes. You are a more positive person, you have more things to look forward to, you have an escape, you experience more, you live more. Last year, we did travel quite a bit, but not enough.

What are you focusing on in 2018?

thanks girl! Self worth is so important and I feel like we always neglect it. So happy to hear you are also working on that as well. We all have to recognize our worth.
