Luxury at its best with a cozy feel just like home, JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa (The Rosseau) is the perfect fall getaway with your girlfriends. Overlooking Lake Rosseau with a beautiful private beach, this resort is a heavenly option for anyone that wants to get away from the busy city lifestyle and enjoy a relaxing yet fun weekend with their girlfriends.
Drive Safely
I love traveling with my fave blogger gal squad; Jenelle from NelleCreations, Mandy from Sparkle Shiny Love, and Zeba from Ella Pretty Blog . A couple weeks ago we all packed our bags (probably way too many bags for just a weekend) and we began our 2 hour drive to gorgeous Muskoka. Seeing we are all known for our not so minimal packing skills we needed a car that would be spacious to fit all of our luggage, but also fit us girls without having to squeeze in. Thanks to Chevrolet, we were able borrow the GMC Yukon XL SUV and without a doubt there was even more room left for more suitcases. The SUV is so spacious there was even more room left for suitcases. The Yukon XL is luxury on the road. WiFi, OnStar Navigation and my all time fave heated seats, there is even an outlet you can plug in your charger to charge your phone! I could technically live in here. The drive was smooth. There was also valet parking at The Rosseau when we arrived which always makes my day.
Sleep in Comfort
Our room at The Rosseau was a spacious Executive 2 bedroom Suite with two full baths, 2 bedrooms (1 King size bed, 2 Queen beds, 1 Queen sofa bed) a full kitchen, living room, and dining room area. The room felt like our very own little Muskoka cottage. Once you step out to the beautiful wrap around balcony you see the spectacular view of Lake Rosseau. Another feature I love which makes the room feel even cozier is the Muskoka stone fireplace. While we were lounging around our spacious suite we actually received the most delicious charcuterie tray. I mean, the picture says it all. We of course paired it with a refreshing bottle of white wine, and we sat around the cozy fireplace to catch up.
Wake Up Early
If you are staying at The Roseau you have to wake up early and experience the sunrise. The girls and I woke up at 7am to see the sunrise from our balcony. The blush and pale yellow tones of the sky are just breathtaking, and the mist coming up from the lake is just so mystical. You may also want to head down to the lake for a peaceful morning walk, but before you do grab a warm cup of coffee from the Country Market conveniently situated downstairs right by the library.

Eat Well
While on vacation it is important to eat healthy and well. The Rosseau has an amazing selection of restaurants you can choose from for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also, do not forget the resort has room service which we definitely took advantage of for a late night snack. Eating well at The Rosseau is not a problem at all, especially since they accommodate all dietary restrictions. For a casual breakfast that makes food with farm-to-fork ingredients, I highly recommend Cottages. We ate breakfast here twice. If you love Italian cuisine there is something to be said about having dinner at Teca. Friendly staff, food cooked to perfection and a lobster ravioli that will satisfy your palette like no other pasta has.
Take Care of Yourself
While traveling it is important to take the time to invest in yourself. The girls and I made appointments at Spa Rosseau for a relaxing afternoon. We all received different spa treatments, but they were all equally relaxing. I got to experience the Enriching Waterfall. This is a firming and hydrating body treatment where you are laying on a bed with your body wrapped in a towel and warm water is being poured over you with a Vichy shower, while your spa therapist is scrubbing your body. The treatment left my skin so smooth and in a way I felt so purified afterwards. The Vichy shower aids in lymphatic circulation, and I could already feel a difference moments after the treatment was over. Definitely something worth treating yourself to.
Have Fun
There are so many fun activities to participate in at the resort. Just before my spa appointment Jenelle and I headed to the outdoor heated pool. It was so nice to go for a swim in warm water. For those that are not as adventurous, there is an indoor pool that is connected through a joint channel perfect for a memorable year- round experience. The girls and I also grabbed a S’mores kit from reception and we enjoyed a cozy afternoon by the fire chatting and eating S’mores. We also took a mini roadtrip to Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh which The Rosseau was so generous to arrange for us. We toured around the farm and learned all about cranberry harvesting and wine making, obviously a cranberry wine tasting was obligatory. The Cranberry Blueberry Wine was my fave.
