Christmas is around the corner and the party invitations are starting to come in. I love going to Christmas parties, but the big question always haunts me. What do I wear? Depending on the occasion there is always an answer and a go to outfit that will end the stress everytime you have to attend a holiday party. I got together with my favourite gals again and with the help of Oshawa Centre we styled our outfits to show you what to wear to every type of holiday party you may be attending this season without the stress.
Zeba has styled the perfect outfit for a New Years Eve party, Mandy looks super cozy for her brunching with friends holiday party, while Jenelle styled a very work appropriate outfit for her office holiday party. I wanted to share what to wear to your boyfriend’s family Christmas party or holiday dinner. So here is my guide:
Opt for something that is feminine yet classy, and most importantly comfortable. The last thing you want is showing up to your boyfriend’s family holiday dinner in an outfit that will make you uncomfortable all night. It is a recipe for disaster. Although I chose dress pants you could definitely opt for a dress. I just adored the colour of these pants. This outfit is pretty minimal overall except the embellished details of the sweater and the handbag.
If you plan to wear a pants and top combination to an event, I recommend splurging on your pants. I was actually super lucky because these pants are amazing quality and fit but they were only $39.99 at H&M. But even if you splurge on your pants just remember that you will be able to wear them throughout the year so finding a high-quality pair that fits well will not go to waste. You may also choose to go for a classy pair of black pants, but I definitely think a pair of colourful pants add the festive element to your whole outfit.
You can choose your shoes depending if you want to dress your outfit up or down. I wanted to keep my look more dressy so I decided to opt for a pair of classy black heels from Aldo. Another great choice if you want to dress your outfit down is a pair of flats with a pointy toe to keep the look a bit more casual but still dressy.
Accessories can elevate your outfit in an instant. Even if you opt for a basic plain sweater you can add accessories to glam up your outfit. I fell in love with this handbag from Aldo with all the colourful jewels on it and my over the top earrings from H&M are the perfect accessory for any holiday party.
A Festive Sweater
I adore this embellished grey wool sweater I got from H&M. If you are on a tight budget I recommend purchasing a plain sweater and grabbing a broach from Aldo. They have some great choices for the holidays right now that you easily pin on your sweater. This is also a great alternative if you want to wear the sweater all year around.
What holiday parties are you attending this year?
