I don’t know about you, but when I travel I love mixing comfort with chic. Being comfy, especially for a 12 hour flight is a must, but nothing makes you feel as amazing as arriving in a new country in style. Traveling in style is actually much easier than you think and doesn’t requires much effort as you think it would. How to travel in style is definitely one of those things that belong in the category “fake it till you make it” except you don’t have to fake it. Travelling in style is actually a pretty easy thing to do as long as you have those closet essentials that instantly make any outfit look fab.
Sometimes you want to look like a Hollywood Star when you are travelling without necessarily breaking the bank or sacrificing your comfort. These are 5 quick tips is how you can travel in style:
Chic Carry On
First step is to up your game with a beautiful carry on bag. Fashionable jet setters usually travel with a gorgeous statement bag. Whether it is a classy weekender bag or a colourful Balenciaga bag like mine, your options are endless. Betsey Johnson also has the cutest carry on bags, and I usually find tons of these at Winners.
Wear an Oversized Cute Top
Your top will the the first thing that stands out when you are travelling. You want your look clean and crisp even when you are travelling a 12 hour flight or any flight for that matter. First step is to choose a top that is not prone to being wrinkled easily. Try to stay away from linen and satin which are the worst when it comes to wrinkles. From sitting down for hours to falling asleep in awkward positions to wearing a seat belt during turbulence, you want to ensure comfort is your best friend. I always opt for a flowy top that will keep me refreshed during the whole flight.
Wear Comfy Pants
I have noticed that most girls wear they travel wear jeans. I bet that is what you wear as well, so why not switch it up and wear boyfriend or relaxed jeans that will a) make you look stylish and b) will give you comfort considering they will not be cutting off your blood circulation for a 12 hour flight like a pair of skinny jeans would. When you are sitting for a long time you are faced with the risk of getting Deep Vein Thrombosis – blood clots in the leg which can lead to sudden death.
When you’re going to be traveling for hours in an unfortunate cramped airplane you want to ensure you are wearing loose pants that have a reasonable amount of stretch, so that you can be as comfy as possible.
Comfortable Heels
Carrie Bradshaw loved shoes and for a good reason! If you want to travel in style you also need the right shoes. Nothing takes an outfit from drab to fab like heels. You know me, I am always wearing flats, but truth is I always wear flats because I haven’t really found any heels that are comfortable. I have wide feet and even though I absolutely adore pointy heels they never fit me properly. Well, thanks to Johnson & Murphy my flat days are over! I got myself the perfect pointy heels and best part? The Vanessa Pump fits perfectly, doesn’t cause blisters, doesn’t make my feet sore after walking for hours, and it is the prettiest shade of blue ever. I love how the pumps actually have a cushioned footbed and a textured nonslip sole. If you are more of a classic gal and prefer basic colours the Vanessa Pump also comes in a beige or black colour. I personally love the light blue suede Vanessa Pumps because they add life to the outfit and also aren’t your typical black or beige pumps that usually everyone opts for. I am actually really happy with this pair, so you bet I am going to be wearing them when I travel. Also, love the fact you can easily just take them off and put then back on when going through security.
Wear a Hat
I actually never pack my hats in my suitcase. I either carry them/wear wear them or put them in my carry on. Hats gets ruined so easily in your suitcase, and even though I have mastered some ways of packing hats, I prefer to wear them instead. So not only will you look like a fashionista wearing a hat while traveling, but also in actuality you are protecting your hat from getting ruined from shoving it in your suitcase. Another great tip? Hats will also cover what I like to call airplane hair. I don’t know what it is about airplanes but somehow when that airplane lands somehow my hair has gone from freshly washed to oil galore. No clue how this happens, but I love the fact that I can just throw on my hat.

Oh this outfit is awsome! I love it and I would wear it the same (but without the hat, because hats don“t suit me well) :-*Melanie / http://www.goldzeitblog.de
These are all really great tips Eleni! I am seriously in love with your pink Balenciaga bag and it looks like it is the perfect size for travelling. I always end up bringing a purse and a small carry-on suitcase, but I would love to find a bag like this that is big enough to be my only carry-on item.
