Although the original plan was to travel abroad, Kamiran and I spent my birthday weekend at Prince Edward County. We wanted to have Margot with us so we decide to stay local. After a very thorough research I found our spot! The Ferg in Picton. We were more keen on finding something in Wellington, but I just couldn’t bring myself to pass up this quaint stay. It was by far the best choice I ever made.
Do you ever feel the need to escape somewhere that inspires you yet makes you feel right at home? That is what The Ferg felt like. A home away from home. I don’t even know where to begin to describe The Ferg. My mind is overcome with style, simplicity, colour, comfort, do I need to keep going? I am a lover of Victorian homes and any home for that matter that comes with a history and a story to tell to its owners or in this case its guests. There is so much history to The Ferg and it was wonderful to be a part of it. We stayed at The loft section of the house which actually used to be a horse stable. Hard to believe considering how beautiful it is.
I am going to start the tour, with the upstairs section of The Loft. The upstairs section has the bedroom, bathroom and laundry room. The Loft has available a queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom and a king size bed in the upstairs bedroom, so you can definitely fit more people in here. The bedroom was simple, but the bed was so comfy. I am pretty sure I passed out within minutes after laying in it. Fluffy and spacious, this mattress was a true dream. The bathroom was also one of my favourite spots. I am a lover of clawfoot tubs and this one was an original! One thing I always love in places we stay in is when the bathroom has both a shower and a bath tub, and The Loft does.
The kitchen is simply gorgeous. Like, I will gladly cook here. Even though we did not cook for ourselves, I did love the fact that The Loft does have a kitchen. It was lovely to wake up each morning and feel like we were waking up at home and then going to make our coffee in the kitchen. The livingroom was also very spacious and had just all the right essentials that made you think you are back at home.
The colours and set up of the space is so open and airy. Margot had a blast running up and down the open space and cozying up at night by the fireplace while we were enjoying our glass of wine. The whole set up of this loft makes you feel like you are staying at your cottage and not just a rental home. Also, for a very affordable price this spot makes the prefect weekend getaway. Whether you want to have a romantic getaway with your little family or a fun girls weekend at Prince Edward County, honestly, The Ferg would be a great location to stay at.

The Ferg in Picton is a mix of so many different things. It has a French country vibe yet mixes the boho chic of Palm Springs, with an airy open concept design that also touches the simplicity of Scandinavian design while preserving the charm of a rustic 1840’s heritage home.I was quite intrigued to see in person how The Ferg was set up. The Loft is a gorgeous two-story loft! It was the perfect birthday getaway for our family.
