Empowering Students with The Shine Project

Behind all the superficial daily doses there is one cause that is of great importance to me; empowering students to reach their fullest potential and helping them to find the means to do so. To be quite truthful after I completed my Masters my activity to empower students has decreased. So when an opportunity arises that gives me the chance to empower students to pave a path that will bring them closer to their dreams, I am all over it. Growing up, I was  fortunate to have had parents that were able to take care of all of my financial needs while I was going to school. Not having enough money to pay for my tuition or books was not something I had to worry about. Reality is though that many students do not have such luxury, and their financial resources are limited. Sometimes education is not an option. So what a life would that be?

Some high school students do not even dare to dream of attending college or university because they simple do not have the funds and support system they need. But education should not be considered a privilege. Education is a right that every student should have access to. That is why I love Threads by the Shine Project and how they employ at risk youth to help them earn money  to pay for college or university, and have real life job experience by hand-making the beautiful bracelets I am showcasing in today’s post. But wait, there are tons more designs. Also, how cute is this graphic tee, also from The Shine Project?
