North America is known for its individualistic culture, driven by the “I” instead of the “we”. Value is placed on the personal goals of the individual instead of the group. Individual accomplishments and success stories are the drive of each person. Drifting away into collectivism, we find a culture that values a collective mentality, and significance is placed upon the group. In a utopian world, there is a balance of both collectivism and individualism, and so is our little blogging family. The perfect utopia that happens to be 100% genuine. We have all had our own personal stories, but we also understand the importance of coming together and creating a peer support group that adds value to the blogging culture that at times tends to be individualistic.
Back in May I had the pleasure of meeting these beautiful ladies, Amy, Gabriella, Joelle and Kaylee at a Kate Spade event. Beautiful inside and out, these ladies have become my go-to girls for any blogging dilemma, a little snapchat pick me up, my foodie partners in crime, my positive reinforcement, a ray of sunlight in the world which I call my second home, the blogging world. No one prepares you for the loneliness that at times comes hand in hand with blogging, but a supportive and genuine group of fellow blogger friends does. And so this Christmas, I am grateful for this beautiful addition in my life, so much that we decided to celebrate in a true whimsical style, all together. Whether you are a blogger or not, pause for a minute and celebrate the success of another person in your life, just like we did during this whimsical and oh so fun photoshoot. Stop and be genuinely a person that flourishes, but also do not feel threatened by other people’s success. Our world is endless, there is room for everyone to grow and be successful. Be supportive, be caring, be a friend, and most importantly have fun along the way.
