Bijuleni - Iron Kettle Bed & Breakfast Review

Thursday calls for some travel inspiration and there is no doubt this Victorian B&B will inspire you to travel and experience the hospitality of Windsor Essex Pelee Island region, first hand. Last week I was in hibernation mode because I got hit by a terrible stomach flu but before hand I got to stay at the beautiful Iron Kettle Bed and Breakfast in Comber built in 1876. It is a known fact in my household that Victorian homes are my jam.The architecture just captivates me so much it is rather annoying. With modern furnishings yet with some antique findings that truly add character to the home, as well as the bay windows, original hardwood floors and beautiful 10 feet high ceilings, I gasp every time I see a Victorian home. And of course cannot help but think of its rich history. Who lived here? When was the house built? Does the property have original furnishings? Fear not, Iron Kettle comes with lots of new and old historical facts that will definitely satisfy your guest curiosity. Our host, Ben gave us a tour around the house and shared all if its history.

Iron Kettle Bed and Breakfast, offers 5 bedrooms with private washrooms and showers which is nice if you prefer not to share your bathroom with other guests. Each room has its own T.V. and wifi Internet access. The rooms differ in style, but their size are relatively the same. My room's aesthetic can easily be defined by rustic chic meets traditional simplicity. Loved all the details of this room. It was simple yet pretty. The morning light from the window is always my favourite in Victorian homes.A wonderful touch are the cute welcome gift are the personalized cookies the hosts leave in the room for you.Like how cute are these?

My bedroom also had a cute little bathroom down the hallway.Interestingly enough decades ago the bathroom was in fact the maid's bedroom. Now, completely remodeled into a bathroom it is one of the cutest spots in the house overlooking the pool.

What To Eat? Leave your cooking skills behind behind because the hosts of Iron Kettle will provide you with a delicious buffet breakfast that also caters to those that require a gluten free menu. The girls and I had some delicious gluten free lemon poppy seed waffles as well as a flavourful frittata, along with fresh local fruits and orange juice.A wonderful touch are all the local products used for the breakfast. The owner's grandma even makes the jams, and local yogurt is also available for each guest.
