foxy red

Starting off Wednesday with R e d, the colour of love. They say blondes look really good in red, but I am definitely not one of those blondes that fall under this category. I don't particularly love the red colour on me. This red skirt is one out of four red items I own, and I do love it, but I wouldn't go overboard with adding red in my closet. I like the bold look the pairing of the red skirt creates with the leopard print top. Any colours you boycott when it comes to your wardrobe?

Pastry Project: Butter Avenue

There is something I love more than fashion. Desserts. As mentioned last week, one of my New Year's resolutions is the Pastry Project with my partner in crime, Claudia. Our project begins at Butter Avenue. Decor is minimalist and modern. I prefer the shabby chic look, but I think the taste of the macaroons makes up for what is lost in design. Row after row, the colourful macaroons brighten up the space. I opted for an elaborate decorated tart, St. honorĂ© Raspberry. My tart was consisted of a creme chantilly raspberry, 2 macarons, pate sucree and fresh fruit = deliciousness in my tummy. Perfect consistency, perfect texture. My friend had the cream cheese passion fruit, lychee raspberry and white chocolate strawberry macaroons. She couldn't really taste the lychee, but we are not very picky. Give us macaroons and we will eat them regardless of the flavour at hand.
It's Thursday so treat yourself to something delicious. Here's some yummy inspiration.

Mrs Mustard

Love coloured tights, but don't know how to style them? Join the club. My go to colour is black or grey tights, but I recently started experimenting with various colours. Mostly because I want to add more colour in the mundane shades of winter that I am surrounded with. When you first add a coloured pair of tights into the mix of your outfit, it will appear as if something is off. Fear not, you do not look ridiculous in your mustard tights. You're just not used to it. Break the habit of sticking to neutrals, add some colour in your life.

swedish berry

Happy Monday my cyber flâneurs! Super excited to be starting off the week with this reddish beauty. Even though the winters here are brutal, I hardly have any sweaters in my closet. Merino wool is usually what works best for me, but finding the perfect sweater is close to mission impossible. I need my sweaters to be long, soft and cozy, and definitely not make me itch (most sweaters have this effect on me). Even though I'm picky, this Tommy Hilfiger sweater is the newest addition in my closet that I will most definitely be wearing over and over again.

Grey meets Red

Another amazing cardigan I am adding to my collection of never ending cardigans. I purchased this oversized cardigan from Costco Wholesale and I absolutely adore it. Its texture is soft, and overall a versatile item that can be worn at any time. Due to it being oversized, I like wearing it over dresses the best. Also wearing the 2nd red item in my closet, the Chanel Caviar Wallet on a chain. I go through phases, where I love this purchase, at other times I regret not buying the pastel pink shade instead. I think this is a huge issue when you buy classic pieces like these. Picking the right colour that you will love till the end of time is rather challenging. I usually wear this as an eye catcher when the rest of my outfit palette is neutral.

white as snow

I can't help it. I have this thing for bows. Give me a bow, any bow and you will be my best new friend. Was browsing around Winners the other day (so typical of me) and found this little beauty. I mean the bow is just gorgeous. Without it the dress would be nothing special, but the bow just brings everything together.

All about the bow

When I look at my new beanie the following scene from SATC comes to mind:

Carrie: I put a bird on my head.
Miranda: Is that what that was? I thought it was feathers.
Carrie: It was a bird.

Well for today's post, I put a bow on my head. A bit less dramatic than Carrie's epic bird, but I definitely got the same reaction from my mom. I love eccentric details on beanie hats, making an essential winter accessory into something fun to wear. How ridiculously cute is this bow beanie though, I cannot even express. Another great find from Winners of course. I also highly recommend getting a pair of Sorel boots. They are incredibly warm and so comfortable to wear. Definitely regretting not having these during last year's winter.
